Since I came to this country…… several years ago, at least once a year every summer I’d pay a visit to this enchanting town, located at the bank of the Delaware river, in western Pennsylvania
This is a typical and atypical touristic town, the main street, loaded with small cute novelties stores, restaurants, and, bars, but also offers art galleries, “retro stores” with such decorations in their windows that make you smile and evocate those 60 – 70`s decades and beyond.
Because, we go there on a hot summer day, we always stop for a very cold beer in a mug at the “bitter Bob's Bar “which is the “stop” for the bikers.
we see everybody passing by, taking pictures of their “babies” ( the bikes) and admiring them and being very careful because .......you don’t want to get in any trouble with those, tough looking bikers with, big tattooed arms.
Walking around you find ice cream parlors, palm readers, Hindi stores with that typical “incense smells” that drags you into the store.
So many restaurants to choose from, but the space in your stomach is so reduced that you have to choose only one, because you`ve already had, ice cream, beer, and so many other goodies
This time we chose a fusion of Mexican, Thai and Italian cuisine, what a mix!!!!
I went for the Thai and Alonso for the Mexican in a nice, but too hot for Alonso “backyard” restaurant.
The atypical……a very “elite like” bar- restaurant that used to be a “Church.” Crossing the bridge over the Delaware River on foot we got to “Lambertville,” NJ, what caught my attention there was an “ Old Train Station” now is a very successful bar-restaurant.
As for me, one of the most important things in this “enchanting town” is the train and it`s history; you can enjoy a ride in this old steam machine, with open wooden windows catching and all the breeze come in and came out of the train, while you salute the neighbors who smile and wave their hands when the train is passing by.
Now I`ll share some pictures that reveal more of this charming little historic town………
